Prasiolite facet rough is an amethyst from Brazil that when treated correctly turns green . Some call it green amethyst. It has a very pleasant pastel green color and will cut a great stone. Something I noticed when I went to take this picture is that under incandescent lights the color can almost disappear. But under fluorescent light it has intensified green coloring as seen in the pictures above. This material is 90+% eye clean and most pieces are fairly well shaped for a good yield. Neither one of these pictures do the color of this rough any justice. It is a very pleasing color. The sizes are typically running between 9cts to over 53cts. A rough guess at the average would be between 18cts and 25cts. The price of this rough is a very affordable $0.19 per carat. Or $0.17 per carat if you buy 500+cts parcel. Or $0.15 per carat if you buy a 1000+cts Parcel. |
