This is some of that fine paraiba type tourmaline rough from the new finds in Mozambique. This material is running from a low to medium facet grade or up to a high facet grade if you do some sawing. depending on the effort you put into this rough I believe you will be able to get some smaller eye clean finished stones out of it. The colors range from a purple to a purple with blue tints on the c-axis to a sweet neon blue to a greenish blue. I was able to get a great deal on this rough since it was primarily a cabbing rough parcel that I was able to cob out some facet rough from. Much of this material will cut slightly included to eye clean stones with some effort and planing and possibly some loss of yield. The rest will cut included stones. I don’t expect to be able to get this rough at the price I did ever again. so when this rough is gone it is gone at this price.
There is 9 stones in this parcel. The parcel weighs 32.8cts with the largest stone weighing 11.6cts and the smallest weighing 0.4cts with an average size of 3.64+cts. This material is being sold for just $40.00 per carat or $35.00 per carat if you buy the entire parcel or what is left when you place your order. At this price you can’t go wrong!
