Afghanite can be a pretty hard to find rough. I was fortunate to stumble upon this material while I was inquiring about some tourmaline in Pakistan. When offered this material I could not refuse knowing it could be a while before I would be able to find more. Afghanite rough is from the same area as the Afghan lapis fields.
This cabbing rough is a nice translucent royal blue with some being transparent enough to facet. Many of these Afghanite rough stones are actually crystal sections which collectors would love to have. The price I am selling this rough at is a steal especially if you are a mineral collector. Specimen crystals of similar large sizes are selling for $100+ . The sizes of this cabbing rough is between 3ct and 550+cts.
If your desire is to cab this Afghanite you will find they cut a very nice rich blue cab with a great polish for your jewelry or collection. I seriously do not know when I will be able to get any more of this material so when this is gone it’s gone. If you wish to facet some there is some facet rough potential in this material.
We are selling this rough for just $0.65 a carat.
