This is some fairly uncommon possibly rare natural Facet rough coming from Badakshan Afghanistan. To my understanding there is not very much of this faceting rough coming out of Afghanistan and is a relatively new find. So who knows how much of this material is actually left to mine. As you can see in the picture the color is a pleasant almost a pinkish purple. I have not been through this material to determine how much of what grade is available so when you put in your order I will fill it to the best of my ability. This scapolite rough is mostly under 3cts. so it is smaller material, I am dividing this facet rough into 3 grades: A1=$1.00ct. This facet rough is eye clean or better of 3cts and larger sizes. This faceting rough will produce eye clean to 10X loupe clean faceted stones. A2=$0.85ct. This is eye clean or better facet rough that is over 1ct. and under 3cts.. It should produce eye clean to 10X loupe clean stones. B1=$0.55ct. This is material that is eye clean of facetable size under 1ct. or slightly included to included facetable rough of any size. With proper planing you should be able to get a nice eye clean to slightly included stone of normal yield to lower than normal yield from this grade of faceting rough. |
